UF/IFAS Farm Labor Supervisor Training- Immokalee (November 19th and 20th)

To help employers and supervisors of agricultural workers comply with labor laws, UF/IFAS Extension is offering a training program in Immokalee. The Farm Labor Supervisor Training Program will take place on November 19th (8:30 am – 4:30 pm) and November 20th (8:30 am – 4:30 pm), 2019 at the UF/IFAS Southwest Florida Research & Education Center. Four classes are offered on November 19th: Farm Labor Contractor Basics and Navigating the H-2A Process, Wage/Hour Regulations and Managing H-2A Workers, EEOC Compliance- Harassment and Discrimation, and Management Communications. Four different classes are offered on November 20th: Safe Driving, Pesticide Safety, Heat Stress Prevention, and Hand Labor Equipment Safety. Registration starts at 8:00 AM both days. Classes are taught in both English and Spanish in separate rooms at the same time. There is a $75 fee per class. If you choose to attend all 8 classes to earn your Certificate of Fam Labor Management, the fee would be $525. Please select the "Complete Certificate Program" option in either English or Spanish. Anyone completing all classes and passing a test in each class will earn a Certificate of Farm Labor Management. First Aid and CPR classes may count in place of certain classes listed above .For further information, please contact Barbara Hyman (hymanb@ufl.edu, 239-658-3461). If you would prefer to take the classes from the comfort of your office computer we can make arrangements for that as well. PLEASE call me to discuss this option. ****PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU REQUEST A REFUND THERE WILL BE A SERVICE FEE (PER TICKET) DEDUCTED BY EVENTBRITE. THE ONLY EXCEPTION WILL BE IF WE CANCEL THE TRAINING OR YOU UNINTENTIONALLY PURCHASE DUPLICATE TICKETS AND REQUEST A REFUND WITHIN 7 DAYS PRIOR TO OUR EVENT.
